Adoption Referral

Adoption can be a difficult decision to make. But many moms find that this option provides the life that they want for their child.

APS Medical makes sure each client knows their life is not over just because they are experiencing an unintended pregnancy. Whatever decision you make, you can also choose to become stronger through this challenge and pain and to celebrate the new life you’ve created.

This option doesn’t necessarily mean that you cannot be a part of your child’s life. Many adoptions today allow you to do just that. If you feel that raising a child is something you are not ready for, this option can provide you with peace of mind knowing your child has the love, resources, and care that he or she will need to be successful and happy. While this choice may be a scary prospect, APS Medical staff can help guide you through it.

Types of Adoptions

There are three types of adoptions: open, semi-open, and closed adoption.

  • Open adoption allows you to have regular contact with your child and his or her adoptive parents. You will have the opportunity to choose the family and have an open conversation with them before making your selection.
  • Semi-open adoption provides limited contact between the birth parents and adoptive parents usually done through a third party, such as an adoption agency.
  • Closed adoption _____ limited or no contact with the adoptive parents and will not have contact with your child.

Whatever you choose, only you know what is right for you and your child.
